QA Manager

Looking for a new career challenge? If you're ready to seek new challenges in the exciting world of digital music, TuneUp Media is seeking a proactive candidate with excellent communication and computer skills to be an Entry-level QA Manager (and jack-of-all-trades) at our headquarters located in San Francisco.

Responsibilities:

  • Test in fast-paced environment with both long and short development cycles
  • Lead projects from start to finish including defining test approaches, test -plans, release and maintenance
  • Lead and work with QA team (comprised of 3-4 interns) to define test plan approach, coordinate daily testing and assess risks
  • Collaborate with Dev/PM team members to ensure high quality releases
  • Multitask and prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Communicate testing expectations to project managers and project team members

Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years of development or testing experience with a high level of technical competence and a track record of strong scripting and automation skills
  • Experience with QA of hybrid desktop (C/C++)/online (AJAX/PHP) applications
  • Experience building best practices and a quality test environment in a new environment.
  • Industry experience QA of C/C++, PHP, AJAX code and modern web application technologies and techniques (agile software development, extreme programming)
  • Familiarity with testing automation, stress test and unit test tools
  • Strong project management skills
  • Successful track record of collaborating with engineers and product managers to provide technical advice and direction
  • Highly proficient in Unix/Linux
  • Capable of flourishing in both structured and un-structured environments.
  • Strong self-starter with a can do attitude and enthusiasm for teamwork.
  • Permission to work legally in US

Systems Administrator

TuneUp Media is the developer of the TuneUp Companion, a sidebar application that docks onto iTunes and automates various music management tasks. Using a Linux-based server infrastructure, TuneUp fixes your mislabeled track information, finds your missing cover art, and tailors external music services such as YouTube or RSS feeds to your collection. With millions of music lovers out there, we are building scalable systems to support insane growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Systems administration for QA systems, engineering/development servers, and data warehouse
  • In-office IT - ensure proper running of networks, manage file servers, perform support for desktop systems
  • Support for in-house hardware/software systems used by QA and Customer Support team (RT, RTFM, vBulletin, Trac)
  • Communicate IT/operations development/schedules to project managers and project team members

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of systems administration experience, including desktop support
  • Experience with Mac, Windows and various flavors of Linux
  • Proficient in Linux at the command line level
  • Familiarity with scripting languages

  • Successful track record of collaborating with marketing, engineers and product managers to provide technical advice and direction
  • Strong self-starter with a can do attitude and enthusiasm for teamwork.
  • Permission to work legally in US
